Ambelos Phos

Type: Dry Red Wine.
Classification: Protected Geographical Indication Peloponnese.
Grape Varieties: 85% Aghiorgitiko – 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Description: The noblest Greek variety, the Aghiorgitiko, is blended with the cosmopolitan Cabernet Sauvignon, in wine of vivid ruby-red color. A quite rich mouth, but with relatively soft tannins, and vivid aromas of cherry, gooseberry, cedar and vanilla.
Vineyards: From selected vineyards in the semi-mountainous areas of Nemea.
Harvest Dates: Mid September.
Vinification: A 10-12 day extraction at 22-25 οC, it matures for 3 months in French, oaken, third- or fourth-use barrels.
Served At: 22-25 οC.
Food pairings: Yellow cheeses, red-sauce pasta, red-sauce chicken or pork.
